Leaving Banff toward Calgary, the mountains change a bit. How?
They're all in your mirrors. :-)
Here's the last view of mountains for this trip:
Now it looks like this:
And the temperature rose about 20 degrees.
I found a campground east of Calgary in Strathmore.
Hot Showers!
Finally - when it's 90 degrees and sunny!
The sunshine quickly dried out the wet tent.
While I found a McDonalds to update the blog, it's turned cloudy.
When I rode away from Ft. Liard, NWT, I knew I was leaving the last of the long gravel roads.
When I left the Alaska Highway, I knew it was the last I would see of the wide-open roads with no traffic.
And as I left Banff, I realized that the mountain portion of this adventure is behind me.
Time to put away the long underwear.
On to the next stage...
Life is good.
I guess the flatlands are a bit of a let down (pun intended)after the mountain riding.
