When I left Spearfish, SD this morning it was clear and warming quickly. By the time I arrived in Missoula, it was 42°F (5C) and I'd been riding in rain, sleet and snow for about five hours. The temps have been between 37° in the mountain passes, and 45° in the warm spots.
Here are a couple of shots when I crested a pass at about 6500 ft. (just west of exit 324 off I-90)
It was snowing steadily at that point.
My rain gear is working well, and I'm glad I bought the boot and glove rain covers.
The lady at the desk said it has been raining for a week here. She asked me which direction I was heading, and then said I was in for a lot of rain. We'll see.
I'm hoping to get some camping done on this "camping trip".
Only about 630 miles today.
I passed some spectacular scenery today, some of which I could only partially see, and some canyons where I couldn't afford to take my eyes off the road.
It's supposed to reach 68F (20C) here tomorrow afternoon. Too bad I won't be here to see it! I'll be off to Spokane and then north toward Prince George, BC.
Thanks for adding Celcius! :-)
