Quotes of the day

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it.
- Helen Keller

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
but I have promises to keep,
and miles to go before I sleep.
- Robert Frost

Update

I just went to the Yukon tourist center and got some clarification. The lady at McDonald's said they might open the "detour" later today, but she didn't know where that was. I assumed she was talking about the Campbell Highway since that's the only other road to Watson Lake and the southern Alaska Highway.

Actually, road crews are building a detour around the washed out area on the AH. They are hoping to open 1 lane later today for local support and then let tourists on it tomorrow.
They said there was no reason to believe that the Campbell would be opened before the AH.

So I just registered for another night at the campground.

If I'm going to be stuck, it's much better to be in a big town instead of tiny Teslin with loads of tourists who have all the campsites taken.

Going to check out the McBride Yukon Museum next.
