Quotes of the day

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it.
- Helen Keller

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
but I have promises to keep,
and miles to go before I sleep.

Leaving Skagway yet again

I'm in Whitehorse again. (McDonald's - my blog's Base of Operations!)
60 degrees F and cloudless.
I suppose I'll be here again in the morning, checking on the Alaska Highway status.

Here is a clip of Dall Creek, which overflowed and washed out the Klondike Highway...

And here is a 360 degree panorama of a mountain vista along the highway.

  1. Rick: From the close in view of your Spot I think you're camped at the same campground we camped at when we moved from AK to America back in 1990. Hope they've improved the showers since then!

You're having a tremendous trip. I look forward to your posts each day. Ride well, enjoy the journey!

    1. Yeah, the showers are a bit "rustic". But about the same as th eones at the harbor in Skagway. Put your coins in and shower till the water stops. You hope the temperature is right, because there are no knobs. I stayed at one camp where the shower house was heated. That was nice.
I Skagway, I kept hitting the hand dryer button by the sinks until it broke the chill in the room a bit. :-)
