Quotes of the day

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it.
- Helen Keller

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
but I have promises to keep,
and miles to go before I sleep.

Lake Louise 2

When I was leaving camp this morning, I considered that this may be my last sub-40-degree morning to climb out of the sack. That thought helped with packing up the wet tent.

Then I went to Lake Louise to get breakfast. I found a sign saying "restaurant" and went in to find a small coffee shop (I went in the wrong door).
I reluctantly ordered 2 cinnamon rolls and a large coffee (just regular coffee).
$12.78   =:-o        ...and the rolls were old.

When I left, I saw the other entrance and the people sitting inside at their tables, probably eating eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, grits,  (OK - maybe not grits).   Bummer.

The Lake Louise Village, at the base before the short ride to the lake.

Trust me, it's a lot better than a cell-phone camera can show. But then the lighting wasn't great either.

The resort at the lake. Lots of tourists.
