Detour

Well, there's another change in plans.
Heading east out of Whitehorse, I saw a sign saying #1 (Alaska Highway) was closed from Teslin to Watson Lake. I knew that couldn't be accurate since it cuts off Alaska and the Yukon from the rest of the world. Thee are no feasible alternates.
So I stopped to ask a local and he said it was true. The heavy rains caused mudslides that have closed the Alaska Highway!

I guess I'll drop down and visit Skagway.
